Snowbaording CampEvery day starts on-hill with a little stretching, then a few warm up runs follow. Finally it is time for everyone to do exactly what they came here for - to learn new tricks. Luckily, the best place for all this is at our on hill facility. Windell's are providing on hill facilities that are top notch. Our terrain not only excells in quality, but also in diversity. We don't stop at having the best rails... we are having the largest variety of rails on the mountain. We are having a 15 foot rainbow, a 20 foot kinked rail, a 30 foot a-frame, a 10 foot flat bar, a 15 foot double bar, two 10 foot mailboxes, an 8 foot curved rail and several more! Throughout the season we are on the move to bringing up new rails and moving them around to create different lines. Our latest invention is a 45 ft down-flat-down kink with stairs all the way down.Continuously we create a lot of different jumps (or kickers) as well, through the season. There are smaller ones to help orient campers to the feeling of being in the air, and there are bigger ones that allow you the hang time to really pull out the big tricks. This year we had everything from a rollable 3 foot jump all the way up to a mammoth 55 foot step-up, to name a few. Chances are high that you can learn a lot on one of our kickers, regardless of if it is your first day on the hill, or your 20th year. The third section of our facility are our halfpipes. We have a mini pipe that is ideal for learning due to it's smaller walls and larger flat bottom. This is where the campers begin their pipe riding instruction. The superpipe is a giant halfpipe with 15 foot walls, more vert, and a bit more distance between the walls. Pros from the world over come to ride ours and it is the industry standard for pipe competitions. Mt. Hood Snowboard Camp |
